Tips to avoid unhealthy snacks

  • Make healthy snacking easyThe simpler it is to eat healthily, the faster you do it. Lay out fruit, yogurt, nuts, or raw vegetables in plain sight.
  • Make unhealthy snacks less accessibleAnalogous to the first tip, you can buy smaller quantities (or none at all) of unhealthy snacks, or keep them out of sight so you are not tempted.
  • Eat regularly and enoughBeing very hungry makes chips, cookies, and candy much harder to resist. So eat at regular intervals. Sufficiently, without stuffing yourself.
  • Wait 10 minutes if hungryFeeling a bit peckish? Have a drink first and ask yourself after 10 minutes if you still feel like having something.
  • Portion in advance: Boo, for example, put chips in a small bowl instead of eating them straight from the bag.
  • Find your triggerBoredom, stress, watching TV, or staying up late often encourage unhealthy snacking.
  • Do not ban anything completelyYou don't have to stop completely either. A planned treat can prevent you from overeating later.
